TC3 is both, a citizen-driven community development vision for our area as the Valley's most appealing metro-location for knowledge-based, revenue producing organizations and their employees, and a challenge to local elected leaders and their staff's to make decisions-both large and small-that consistently bring to life the shared definition of our successful future as a region that is appealling to the senior management and employees of knowledge-based, revenue producing organizations.

Our Mission

Our mission is to facilitate the transformation of Clovis and the Central Valley into an Innovative Technology Hub. We will accomplish this by developing strategies to encourage commercial ventures that both contribute to and benefit from our quality of life, high standards in education and numerous options for leisure. This transformation will promote positive changes in our city, our citizens and our workforce.

The History

Formed in 2005 as Technopolis Clovis Core Commitee, the citizen-based commitee now known as Technopolis Central California Collaborative (TC3), is an organic outgrowth of Clovis' core values and its proud history of innovation. The committee consists of community citizens and staff of the Clovis Community Development Agency (CCDA).

In the first phase of its work, which began in August 2005, TC3 developed preliminary goals and objectives and a Concept Development Plan Outline.

Using its analysis of what constitutes "A Place Called Clovis," TC3 began to identify disciplines that would be part of the technopolis and the challenges and opportunities in building the educational, entrepreneurial, cultural opportunities and other support required to foster the technopolis environment.

During Phase III, with the assistance of the consulting firm Key Writing Concepts, TC3 developed a Concept Development Plan that outlines the roads of a technopolis and its building. A series of symposia were conducted to educate the public on what a Technopolis is.

In July of 2007, several members of TC3 traveled to Barcelona, Spain, for the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) conference. Four papers submitted by TC3 were published; one was presented.
